The Home Builder’s Association of Delaware (HBA/DE) welcomes your application to become a member of one of the most progressive homebuilding associations in the country. HBA/DE has served its membership with accomplishment and pride, and has been an integral part of the growth and economic development of the State of Delaware since 1947.
As a member of HBA/DE you become a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Your membership becomes active upon approval of your application by the Board of Directors with appropriate payment in accordance with our guidelines.

Primary Membership Categories:
Builder Members
Builders are the heart and soul of HBA/DE. Builder members are directly involved in building homes. They include small-volume builders, production builders, light commercial builders, and remodelers. Associate Members
Associate members provide products or services to home builders. They sell lumber, windows, appliances, etc. or offer services such as mortgage finance. Associate members in DE join NAHB though the HBA/DE. Some large national suppliers join NAHB directly through NCHI - The Leading Suppliers of NAHB. Student Members
Student members study building-related subjects at their high school, vocational school, technical school, community college, or university. Students join HBA/DE by becoming members of their student chapter. To learn more about student membership, contact us at membership@hbade.org or 302-678-1520.
Additional Membership Categories (Available to employees of member companies): Your Full Membership to HBA/DE awards you the opportunity to participate in one of our Specialty Councils or to register additional employees as Affiliates to our membership, gaining them complete access to HBA/DE and NAHB websites, tools and information.
Affiliate Members
The Affiliate member category was designed to reach out to the employees of Builder and Associate members, enabling more industry professionals to reap the rewards of HBA/DE and NAHB membership, at a fraction of the cost of a full membership. Affiliated Companies (for members owning more than 1 company)
If a member has multiple companies with at least 50% of the same ownership and is paying assessments on the full volume of all companies, then each additional company may be added to the membership for an additional $175 annual fee to be recognized by HBADE and NAHB as a member for purposes of discounts, events, and programs. Members who choose NOT to sign up their additional companies, those additional companies will NOT be recognized as member companies and will be charged non-member rates or will not be able to participate in events and programs restricted to members only.
The company with the highest membership dues must be the primary member company at full dues to be able to add any additional companies at the group membership rate.
Council Memberships:
- Associates Council - (Free Membership) This Council is to become the recognized voice of the building industry associates in Delaware, unifying the associated trades; to keep the Associate Members informed about local and national issues from an Associates point of view; to give the Associate Members a voice (single point of contact) for concerns about local and national issues; and to encourage greater participation by Associate Members in Association and National events.
- Green Building Council – ($60 Annual Dues per individual) This Council is a diverse working group of members and is enthusiastic and interested in building and promoting the Green Building concept. The GBC provides green educational assistance to the membership (builders, remodelers and associate members), assists state and local governments to provide and enact proactive voluntary, market- driven building guidelines, and works to increase consumer awareness of green building.
- Remodeler’s Council – ($60 Annual Dues per individual) Membership in this Council gives you access to valuable resources and offers opportunities to network with others in the remodeling industry. Founded in 1982, the NAHB Remodelers of the National Association of Home Builders represents and serves the interests of more than 14,000 remodeling industry members. Membership gives you access to valuable resources and offers opportunities to network with others in the remodeling industry.
- Sales and Marketing Council - ($85 Annual Dues per individual) Membership in the SMC is open to sales professionals of any member company. The council provides training, offers awards and recognition programs, and provides sales and marketing tools to members. NAHB's National Sales and Marketing Council was founded in 1962 to help builders sell homes more effectively. The council offers educational opportunities, awards and recognition programs, and sales and marketing tools like the Sales & Marketing Channel to its members
